History of Barren Creek Band

The Barren Creek Band (BCB) was formed in the early 90's by Dave Davis, focusing mainly on country and oldies covers. BCB switched to "Hot Country" music in the mid/later 90's. The band won the Froggy 99.9 Battle of the Bands competition with the prize of opening the Tangier Sound Country Music Festival before 17,000 country music fans.

During the later 90's, BCB's music evolved more into classic rock and roll as some of the band members changed. Today, the band continues with a classic rock theme and has been entertaining folks on the shore for nearly 20 years. The BCB Boys have had the opportunity to open for Vince Gill, Collin Rae, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Chuck Wicks. They have played numerous venues like Punkin Chunkin, The Nanticoke Riverfest, Labor Day at Longneck, the Delmarva Chicken Festival and other festivals and events throughout the shore.

The band received a devastating blow in February 2010 when founder and band leader Dave Davis passed away from his battle with cancer. The remaining band members rallied together to keep the band going in his absence. The band continues today in his honor.
